Disclaimer: Paul Washer is a Southern Baptist. We believe this sermon is worth listening to and it appears that Paul Washer believes in God's Sovereign Grace. But just because we have posted this sermon here does not mean that we support the Southern Baptist Convention. While we see a need for churches to cooperate in sending out missionaries, the idea of a convention that tries to regulate local churches we see as unscriptural.

There is a YouTube video of it as well.
This was preached at some kind of youth conference.
We think they were playing Christian rock and rap music. According to Paul Washer, in an interview, the youth were playing rock music and jumping up and down, picking up young girls and passing them over their heads. Paul Washer's wife had been knocked to the floor by a young man jumping all over the place.
This kind of service is nothing but entertainment and of the flesh. This was the setting in which this message was preached.

Scriptures to ponder before listening:
"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:16-23).

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Greek word for iniquity in Mt 7:23 is "anomia" pronounced an-om-ee’-ah.
Translated in the Authorized Version as: -iniquity 12, unrighteousness 1, transgress the law + 4160 1, transgression of the law 1; 15
  1) the condition of without law
    1a) because ignorant of it
    1b) because of violating it
  2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

Essentially sin:
1Jo 3:4  Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

We are not saved by keeping the letter of the law.
A man may strive to keep the letter of the law and still be wicked in his heart.
We are saved by grace through faith and that (faith) is not of ourselves but a gift from God.  (Eph 2:8).
We are saved on the merits of the propitiatory work of Christ. His sacrifice on the tree. Jesus taking our place.
On the merits of that atonement the Holy Spirit regenerates God's elect and gives them a new nature in Christ. Paul later said, "for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law" (Gal 3:21).
That's what happened to Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus to have Christians who would profess Jesus to be put to death.
He was right at Damascus, 160 miles from Jerusalem, ready to execute his hatred for Jesus on his followers and the Lord stopped him and apprehended him and made him a minister of Christ through the effectual working of his power. These are his words. (Php 3:12 and Eph 3:7).

That work that God started in the sinner, He will perform it until the very end.
Php 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Jesus said all of the law and the prophets hinges on two great commandments. Namely love of God and neighbor.
"Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:36-40).

1Jo 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1Jo 4:10  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1Jo 4:19  We love him, because he first loved us.
1Jo 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

By God's Grace ALONE!
Cannot pat ourselves on the back can we!
